Bob was born on 4/1/1931 to Harry Raymond Pfiester and Odessa Anne Liles in Topeka, KS. He attended school in Barstow, CA and Troy, ID; later he attended Idaho Police Academy in Pocatello, ID and Flight School in Orofino, ID. He married Norma Calene Oct 27, 1950 and had four children.
He had some adolescent jobs in Railroad apprenticeship. During his adult working years he first started logging then started a cedar mill. He became a teamster working on various dams; Dworshack, Boundary and Granite; Janitorial work for Elk River Public School; served as Deputy Sheriff for Clearwater Co. and maintenance for the City of Elk River; became Clearwater Co. Highway District commissioner and went on to maintain the road to Dent. He and his son ran a Cedar Product Mill for ten years.
One of his passions was the Civil Air Patrol organization; he and his colleagues went to Washington DC to lobby for funds for Search and Rescue. The love of horses and horse drawn buggies, motorcycles, ham radios and airplanes was evident. He helped bring the Recreation Dist. to our area and when the school closed he became one of the founders of the Elk River Free Library and Internet.
Survived by sister Marylou, wife Norma, daughters Christine Yockey, (Larry) and Cheryl Brinkley (Tim), 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous in laws, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by father, mother, brother Ray Gene, son Steve, daughter Kathy, grandson Jeremy and great grandson Patrick.
Service will be Saturday January 9, 2016 at 1 PM at Elk River Community Center. Potluck meal to follow hosted by the Syringa Club.
