Bill Boles Current

William Robert Boles passed away peacefully at his home in Troy, Idaho on February 5th, 2015 at the age of 75.

Bill Boles Younger

Bill was born February 1st, 1940 in Orofino, Idaho to Albert and Lora Boles and was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Elk River High School in 1958 with a mere 10 other students. Bill married Marilyn Ann Cook on August 15th, 1959 in Elk River, Idaho. After several moves, they made their home in Troy, Idaho. Most of his work life was spent in the logging industry from slinging rigging to eventually owning and operating his own trucks. Upon “retirement,” he enjoyed driving the water truck for Dean Logging Company.

Bill enjoyed fishing, hiking, hunting, playing his guitar, attending grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with friends and family. Bill was an accomplished, self-taught guitarist who performed with many bands in the area throughout the years. He was known for his witty humor and ability to make people laugh.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 55 years at their home in Troy, his two children Kelly (Mickey) Johnson of Troy and Mark (Kathy) Boles of Nampa, his sister Rosemary Henson of Yakima and his brother Don (Martha) Boles of St. Maries, and four grandchildren Taylor, Jessica, Lisa, and Kyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Johnie, and an infant brother.

A private burial will be held at Burnt Ridge Cemetery with a memorial to follow at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, National Parkinson Foundation, or Gentiva Hospice Care of the Palouse.

Gone, but not forgotten.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of my favorite Uncle. To Aunt Marilyn, Kelly and Mark, I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart hurts and I cannot imagine how yours must. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, and have been since I heard the news last week. How I wish I could be there. I think about Uncle Bill’s calm and easy-going manner and it makes me smile. Visiting Uncle Bill, Aunt Marilyn, Kelly and Mark was always a treat. I can hear Uncle Bill’s laugh as I type this. Love to you all.
